Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in the age of AI
Elena Atanasiu (Gdansk University of Technology)
In this interactive workshop, we will explore how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can support inclusive and flexible teaching in the age of artificial intelligence. In the first part, we’ll review the key principles of the UDL framework and discuss how they help address learner variability.
In the second part, we’ll engage in practical activities using AI tools such as ChatGPT, NotebookLM, Summarize. tech, Sider, and ChatPDF. You’ll learn how to use these tools to design accessible materials, support multiple means of engagement and representation, and personalise the learning experience for all students.
A Gmail account is required to access some of the tools we’ll be using. No prior experience with AI is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment!
